Second studio album by the folk artist from Brooklyn, New York, the son of folk icon Woody Guthrie. The track “Stealin’” was featured in the film Two-Lane Blacktop, which starred musicians James Taylor & Dennis Wilson. The cover art shows Guthrie on a Triumph TR6 Trophy motorcycle. Featured guest musicians included Ry Cooder, and Gene Parsons & Clarence White, then of the Byrds. The albums includes covers of musicians such Mississippi John Hurt, Pete Seeger, & his father Woody. One of Guthrie’s best known songs, “Coming Into Los Angeles”, is on the album, & is semi-biographical, his friends haven played a prank on him by hiding drugs in his luggage from a flight back from London. The amount was exaggerated for effect for the song, which Guthrie also performed at Woodstock.
