Fifth studio album from the San Francisco area rock band. Cover photo is of the US Coast Guard Cutter Midgett, which was then berthed in Alameda. Drums on the album were performed by Aynsley Dunbar, who had left Journey the previous year. It was also the first album for lead singer Mickey Thomas. The title character in the song “Lightning Rose” would appear in the album Nuclear Furniture five years later & be a key character in that album’s concept. Hit single “Jane” would peak at 14 on the Billboard Hot 100, the album would reach 10 on the Billboard 200, & 20 on the Canadian Top Album charts. Certified gold in the US, & platinum in Canada.
