Compilation album released by the artist, the purpose of which was to take attention away from a controversial period of her career, and address accusations that said career was in decline. The album is completely ballads, as a way to present a softer side of the artist, & includes “This Used To Be My Playground”, a single from the soundtrack to A League Of Their Own, for the first time on album credited to Madonna. Three new songs are also on the album, developed with David Foster & others. The album was a commercial success, reaching number 6 on the Billboard 200 & selling 10 million global copies. Certified triple platinum in the US & double platinum in Canada.
