The Beatles — Roll Over Beethoven

Single released by the band, written & performed originally by Chuck Berry. In Canada it was taken from the Canadian-exclusive album Long Tall Sally, elsewhere it’s on the The Beatles - The Second Album. It was also covered by the Rolling Stones. The song was a favourite of the band, & features George Harrison on vocals. With “Please Mister Postman” as the b-side, the Canadian single reached number two on the charts. A live version recorded for a BBC special was used in Superman III, which was directed by Richard Lester, who had also directed Help! & It’s Been A Hard Day’s Night.
