By the early 70’s Canadian music had started to make in-roads in the US but not in Europe. So music reporter Ritchie York, & the president of Capitol Records Canada, Arnold Gosewich put together a series of concerts in both Toronto & Montreal and invited nearly 100 European record producers & reports to attend. The trip was an all-exclusive, all expenses paid introduction to the Canadian music scene, & included studio tours & press conferences. One of the results of this “Maple Music Junket” was a two volume album collection of Canadian artists featured during the event.
